The Vision

Computer games are here to stay. Therefore, we need to educate people to develop and produce games. The National Academy for Digital, Interactive Entertainment is a collaboration between five universities and three art schools in Aalborg, Viborg, Aarhus and Copenhagen, Denmark. The initial point of departure for the Academy was to create a number of educations that would postively influence the Danish computer game industry, like the National Film School of Denmark has benefited the Danish film industry. A joint language should be developed, and through this a joint understanding of what computer games are, and the students from the various educations should meet and together produce a game in a simulated reality.

The Academy sees it as its task to promote research and development within the area, to be a core contact for the interactive entertainment industry, to support a national contact, as well as creating a foundation for the establishment of scientific as well as industrial projects. The Academy also arranges workshops and seminars about digital, interactive entertainment.
