Six New Games from DADIU
After a year where DADIU’s games have been selected for Indiecade and PAX, and basically taken it all at a festival honoring Turku as a Cultural Capital, six new games are ready to conquer the world.
This time it is with aesthetically beautiful, imaginative universes and intuitive gameplay in RaaSool and Comic trees in Branch. In 1916 – Der Unbekanntes Krieg, dinosaurs are mixed in with 1. World War. You can blend a bunny-rhino-lion in Blendimals, and find your way in Broken Dimensions, where up is down and right is left.
For the first time ever a learning game is a among the graduation games. In Else – Defender of Earth you play the giant Else, who has to save the Earth from alien attacks. Else walks the globe and in order to guide her in the right direction, you have to know geography. The game is aimed at kids from 10 to 12 years old but according to the developers, and older audience can learn something as well …
The games are developed by DADIU students in a little more than a month. Each team consists of approx. 12 students from a number of different art schools and universities in Denmark. They have produced the games in six locations in Aalborg and Copenhagen.
All games are made in the Unity engine and can be played at DADIU’s website here: http://english.dadiu.dk/games/games-from-2011
